LETHERINGSETT ANNUAL B.B.Q.

Letheringsett watermill held their annual BBQ on Saturday 6th September. Hosted by Mike & Marion Thurlow, the barbeque was attended by about 25 or so people.  The evening weather was dry, albeit one small, light and short shower tried to dampen the guests with no effect.

Philip took charge of the barbeque cooking, assisted by Mike. Burgers, sausages, and chicken pieces were barbequed to perfection (well mostly!) These were accompanied by a variety of salads and corn on the cob.

Mike started up the watermill and gave one of his fascinating and informative guided tours as he demonstrated the finer details of the milling process to produce his well-known flour.
Unfortunately, the much-anticipated duck racing was cancelled, as the water level was high and running far too fast to be safe. The guests relaxed and mingled, chatting late into the evening as they enjoyed their food, beer and wine under the gazebo to soporific sounds of the River Glaven.

Many thanks to Mike & Marion and everyone else involved in all the preparation, cooking and clearing up which all helped to make the evening a big success.
