The second annual general meeting of the Friends of Letheringsett was held on Sunday 8th August 2009 at Letheringsett watermill. The meeting was held on the lawn beside the mill, the weather was that of a perfect summer's day. It was good to see that more members attended the meeting than the previous year. The chairman opened the meeting, the financial reports were read, the existing committee was re-elected and any other interested members were invited to join the new committee. The afternoon concluded with a barbeque.
Chairman’s Report The chairman reported that it had been a mixed year for the Friends of Letheringsett Mill. He said that what was required now was a recruitment drive for both the membership and the committee as everything still fell on the same few people. The planned cheese and wine evening had been lost due to lack of interest but the working weekend in April had been very successful with several members taking part and working very hard with Phil Grand organising the mini digger. The Medieval Fun Day is the next event planned and is the most ambitious event to be held at Letheringsett. Several members have already offered to help but more are needed. More history of the mill has been uncovered as a result of the donation and restoration of the clock. There is more to display in the mill than last year but we still need to keep the whole thing going. The chairman concluded his report by expressing thanks to all who have been involved in the past year and special thanks to Mike & Marion Thurlow, Anne & Phil Grand and to Bridget Neville.
